The specialized medical team for conjoined twins has successfully separated the Saudi conjoined twins "Yara and Lara" in a 12-hour operation at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital in Riyadh. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, and Head of the Medical and Surgical Team of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, explained that the twins "Yara and Lara," who are 7 months old, were conjoined in the lower abdomen and pelvis, as well as in the lower colon and rectum, with further overlap and interaction in the urinary and reproductive systems and the pelvic bone. Al Rabeeah pointed out that the operation involved a medical team of 38 consultants and specialists from the fields of anesthesia, pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, nursing, and technical staff. Al Rabeeah stated that this operation is the 65th in a series of operations for the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, which has spanned 35 years, covered 27 countries around the world, and cared for 150 twins, reflecting the Kingdom's leading position in this precise humanitarian medical field, thanks to God Almighty and then to the unlimited support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
