**Arab Sea - Reports:** **Upon the launch of the new academic year 2025-2026 in the schools of the capital, Aden, the wide student attendance proved the great passion for returning to schools after a break of a year and a half. "Arab Sea" visited a number of schools in Al-Mansoura and Dar Saad districts, where queues were seen in the morning and evening periods filling the courtyards.** **The Director-General of Al-Mansoura District, Ahmed Al-Dawoodi, along with Wadhah Al-Haribi, head of the Transitional Council in the district, inaugurated the new academic year 2025-2026 from Aden Model Secondary School for Girls, as well as Ahmed Hamed Khalifa Secondary School for Boys. The inauguration was attended by the Director of Education in the district, Faisal Al-Shaabi, and the Chairman of the Parents' Council in the capital, Aden, Ali Al-Salahi.** **During his tour of the classrooms, the Director of the district addressed the students, urging them to be diligent, hardworking, and persevering from the beginning of the year, wishing them success and expressing his thanks and appreciation to every teacher who came forward to perform his educational mission towards the students.** **The inauguration comes after a long period of strike that began in December 2024, where schools witnessed a large turnout of students who returned to their desks, which reflects their keenness to continue their academic achievement and complete their educational journey.** **At the conclusion of the inauguration, members of the Parents' Council praised the preparations that preceded the start of the academic year, stressing their continued support for the educational process and their contribution to overcoming difficulties in order to help create a stable and stimulating educational environment for students.** **In the same district, a number of schools, which "Arab Sea" visited, welcomed their students at various academic levels, and most of them were observed to be committed to attendance on the first day and from the early hours.** **The school administrations welcomed the students and distributed them to the classrooms according to the pre-prepared study schedules. The school regulations and plans for educational activities for the new year were also introduced. The students adhered to discipline inside the classrooms and interacted with their teachers' explanations.** **A number of teachers said that this early regularity bodes well for a successful academic year full of diligence and hard work, thanking the parents for their cooperation and keenness on their children's commitment to attendance.** **The head of the Parents' Council in Dar Saad district, Abdul-Ilah bin Sab’a, added that all government schools in the district opened their doors on August 31, 2025, adding that the attendance was large, and there were varying percentages in the number of students, ranging from 70% to 90%.** **Sab’a explained that this large number of attendees was not expected by any of the administrations, praising the announcements via social media, which had a significant impact on students' attendance at schools.** **The head of the Parents' Council of the district stated that approximately 30,000 students were distributed to study seats in 22 schools and kindergartens in Dar Saad in the current academic year.** **Sab’a pointed out: "We announce our solidarity with the rights of teachers, providing health care, a decent life, appreciation and respect, and we call on the Minister of Education to look at the tragic situation of teachers, appreciate their national role, and promote the educational process, stressing that this is the position of the Parents' Council, pointing out that the teacher is the cornerstone in societies and must be given his rights and attention so that he can raise future generations to the highest levels to build a strong and cohesive nation. At the same time, we demand the rights of students to free education, and grant them all their rights through the distribution of textbooks, the employment of competent teachers capable of giving and renewing, creating a suitable atmosphere, providing modern means, adopting medical care, reducing student congestion inside classrooms, and providing transportation."** **From Zainab Ali Qassem Secondary School, the Director-General of Dar Saad District, the head of the local council, Abboud Naji Hussein, along with the head of the Transitional Executive of Dar Saad, Hussein Ali Abbad, inaugurated the start of the new academic year.** **The Director-General of the district, accompanied by the head of the community committees in Dar Saad, Jalal Ali Yahya, the head of the economic department of the Southern Transitional Council in Dar Saad, Tariq Al-Ra’i, the head of the Southern Teachers Syndicate in the district, Hani Saleh Salem, and a number of figures in the district, inspected the progress of the educational process and the level of attendance and discipline in Zainab Ali Qassem Secondary School for Girls, wishing them a year full of success and academic achievement.** **During the inauguration, the Director-General of Dar Saad stressed the need to start the new academic year on its scheduled date and the importance of education as a fundamental pillar for building generations and advancing the future of peoples and nations.** **Abboud stressed the need to exert more effort and work in the education sector, stressing at the same time the support of the local authority for the Education Office in the district in return for the efforts made by the school administrations in making the academic year a success.** **For his part, the Director of the Education Office in the district, Anis Al-Hajar, called on school principals and all teachers to work as one team in order to make the educational process in the district a success, appreciating the efforts made by the local authority in the district by facilitating the work of the office, and working to find all appropriate solutions to all the problems and difficulties facing the administration of the Education Office in the district and the continuous follow-up with the concerned authorities in the governorate in order to provide the necessary educational needs.** **The schools of Dar Saad District, numbering (54) schools between primary, secondary and kindergartens, opened their doors to their students to receive the academic year, where the number of students enrolled in government schools reached (14,151) students and (14,017) female students, while the number of students enrolled in private schools reached about (7,249) students and (8,070) female students, with a total of (43,487) students.**
