Arab Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Ministry of Youth and Sports honored the national youth team today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital, Aden, for winning second place in the first Gulf Youth Football Championship, which was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the ceremony, which was held with the support of the Youth and Adolescents Welfare Fund, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Munir Al-Wajih, praised the great efforts made by the team's players and the achievement that brought joy to the hearts of millions of Yemenis, stressing that the team proved that the will of the Yemeni people is not broken, and that their determination is stronger than the challenges and difficulties. Al-Wajih said: "Your journey in the first Gulf Championship was not easy, but it was full of challenges and difficulties, but you were worthy of trust, and you presented an exceptional performance that brought you to the final match. Even if you were not lucky enough to win the championship, we are betting on your enthusiasm and determination to achieve victories in the future." He affirmed that the ministry, based on its national responsibility, sponsors all national teams and supports their external participation with the support of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, praising the efforts of the General Football Association and its keenness to participate in various Arab and continental forums. For his part, the head of the team's delegation, Bashir Al-Jassami, appreciated the ministry's leadership's interest and keenness to honor the team, while the team's coach, Captain Muhammad Al-Nufai'i, praised the achievement that was made in difficult circumstances, pointing out that the team's players and the technical and administrative staff challenged the difficulties and presented honorable levels despite losing the final match, expressing his thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its support, and wishing for the continuation of this support, especially with the upcoming entitlements of the team. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, along with the Undersecretary of the Sports Sector, Khaled Al-Khalifi, and a number of ministry officials, handed over the honor announced by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri, estimated at one million Yemeni riyals for each member of the delegation, in addition to presenting commemorative shields.
