Arab Sea_Agencies: The top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said that Israel's bombing campaign in Gaza must stop, after an airstrike targeted a hospital and killed six journalists, including a collaborator with the Associated Press. Senator Jeanne Shaheen told reporters during a call from Beirut: "I am personally disgusted by the bombing in Gaza and the killing of journalists. I think this has to stop now." It is worth noting that Shaheen is touring the Middle East as part of an American delegation visiting the region to meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara. This position comes at a time when Democrats in Congress, who have historically been among Israel's most prominent supporters, have become more vocal in their criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of the war on Hamas. It is reported that the Israeli bombing of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis resulted in the death of 6 journalists and a number of ambulance and medical personnel. The six journalists who died as a result of the Israeli bombing were: Journalist Hossam Al-Masry: Works as a photojournalist with Reuters news agency. Journalist Muhammad Salama: Works as a photojournalist with Al Jazeera channel. Journalist Maryam Abu Daqa: Works as a journalist with several media outlets, including Independent Arabia and the Associated Press AP. Journalist Muath Abu Taha: Works as a journalist with the American NBC network. Journalist Ahmed Abu Aziz, died of his wounds sustained as a result of the Israeli bombing.
