Arab Sea - Follow-ups: The foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation concluded their extraordinary meeting in Jeddah, stressing that the priority in the current stage is to unify efforts to support the State of Palestine's obtaining full membership in the United Nations, and ending the Israeli occupation in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. The final statement emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian issue and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, appreciating the positions of countries that have recognized or announced their intention to recognize the State of Palestine during next September, and calling on the rest of the countries to take similar steps. The ministers affirmed that a just and comprehensive peace will only be achieved by ending the Israeli occupation, noting that supporting Palestine in the United Nations is a fundamental pillar for achieving stability in the region. The Republic of Yemen participated in the meeting with a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shayea Al-Zindani.
