More than 22,000 violators of regulations arrested in Saudi Arabia in one week.

Arab Sea - Follow-ups: Joint security field campaigns in Saudi Arabia have arrested more than 22,000 violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations within 7 days. The joint field campaigns that took place in Saudi Arabia from August 14 to 20 resulted in the arrest of 22,222 violators, including 13,551 violators of the residency system, 4,665 violators of the border security system, and 4,006 violators of the labor system, according to "Al-Sharq Al-Awsat." The total number of people arrested while trying to cross the border into Saudi Arabia reached 1,786, 42 percent of whom were of Yemeni nationality, 57 percent of Ethiopian nationality, and other nationalities 1 percent. Also, 33 people were arrested for trying to cross the border out of Saudi Arabia illegally, and 18 were involved in transporting, harboring, and employing violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations and concealing them. A statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Interior stated that the total number of violators currently subject to the implementation of regulations is 25,921 expatriate violators, including 23,419 men and 2,502 women, in addition to referring 19,596 violators to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, referring 1,664 violators to complete their travel reservations, and deporting 12,920 violators. The Saudi "Interior Ministry" affirmed that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators of the border security system, transports them inside the country, provides them with shelter, or provides them with any assistance or service in any way, exposes himself to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, and confiscation of the means of transportation and housing used for sheltering, in addition to defamation. It explained that this crime is considered one of the major crimes requiring arrest and violating honor and trust, urging reporting any violations on the number "911" in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and "999" and "996" in the rest of Saudi Arabia.
