Terrifying incident on Alexandria beach.. 6 students drown and 24 injured

Arab Sea - Follow-ups: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced on Saturday the death of 6 students and the injury of 24 others in a drowning accident in Alexandria Governorate. The ministry said in a statement published on its Facebook page: "Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, is closely following the medical and ambulance procedures taken to provide urgent care to those injured in the drowning accident of a number of students, which occurred on Saturday morning, on Abu Talat beach in the Agami area of Alexandria Governorate, as part of a trip belonging to an academy specializing in air hospitality." The ministry expressed its deep sorrow for "the loss of 6 lives in this unfortunate accident, while extending its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured." The ministry confirmed that the Egyptian Ambulance Authority and the Urgent and Emergency Care Sector responded immediately to the report received, as 16 fully equipped ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the accident to ensure the rapid and efficient transfer of the injured. It pointed out that these efforts contributed to the treatment of 3 injured people at the scene of the report, and the transfer of 13 injured people to Agami Specialized Hospital, and 8 others to Ameria General Hospital, where they are currently receiving the necessary treatment according to protocols for dealing with cases of asphyxia resulting from drowning, under the supervision of specialized medical teams. Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar affirmed the ministry's commitment to providing all medical and logistical capabilities to support the injured and their families, with continued close monitoring of the developments in the health condition of the injured, and rescue teams are still dealing with the accident and follow-up is underway. The Ministry of Health called on the public to adhere to safety guidelines on beaches, especially during group trips, to avoid such painful accidents.
