Yemen: Meteorology expects continued thunderstorms and rising temperatures in several regions.

Arabian Sea - Yemen - Special: The Air Forecast and Early Warning Center announced today its expectations for continued thunderstorms over wide areas of the country, with a noticeable rise in temperatures in coastal and desert areas. According to the weather bulletin issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, heavy thunderstorms will include the mountainous highlands and western slopes from Saada to Taiz, Lahj, and Al-Dhalea, and will also reach the governorates of Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Al-Bayda, and Abyan. Scattered rain is also expected on the eastern and southwestern coasts, while desert and coastal areas will experience hot to very hot weather. The coasts of the Socotra archipelago are exposed to active to strong winds, while the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, and the Arabian Sea are experiencing significant marine disturbances. Temperatures recorded a noticeable increase in coastal areas, reaching 35 degrees Celsius in Hodeidah, 34 degrees in Mukalla, while Aden recorded 32 degrees. In desert areas, the temperature in Marib reached 35 degrees, while Sanaa was the most moderate with a maximum temperature of 25 degrees. The center renewed its warning to citizens in rainy areas about the danger of being in the paths of torrents and valleys, and also alerted residents of desert and coastal areas to the danger of direct exposure to sunlight for long periods. It issued special warnings to ship captains and fishermen about sea disturbances and high waves around the Socotra archipelago and the coasts of Al-Mahra and Hadhramaut.
