This came during Saqr's meeting with a number of fighters from the Northern Military Region, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Ahmed Khalifa, the leaders of the main branches, and a number of leaders of the Armed Forces. According to a statement by the Egyptian military spokesman on Wednesday, the visit to the Northern Military Region "comes within the framework of periodic meetings to unify concepts regarding various issues and topics related to Egyptian national security at all levels." The commander of the Northern Military Region, Yasser Abdel-Moez Al-Khatib, affirmed that "the forces of the Northern Military Region renew their pledge to continue giving and redouble efforts to reach the highest levels of combat readiness, and to carry out the tasks assigned to them with a firm faith that puts the interest of the homeland above all consideration, no matter what sacrifices it costs them." A few days ago, the Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces called on the special forces fighters from the paratroopers and commandos, "to maintain the highest rates of efficiency and combat readiness, and to raise the level of skill and physical fitness through continuous training and maintaining high morale, so that the armed forces always remain a strong shield for the nation." The Egyptian military spokesman said in a statement at the time that the Minister of Defense affirmed, in a speech, that "the General Command of the Armed Forces is keen to pay attention to the individual fighter and develop his combat performance, in a way that enables him to carry out all the tasks entrusted to him efficiently and competently under various circumstances."
