Yemen: Popular campaign leads rescue efforts in Al-Tawahi, Aden, due to heavy rains.

Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Director-General of Al-Tawahi District, Judge Wajdi Alwan Al-Shaabi, accompanied by the Director of the Governor's Office, Amjad Al-Husseini, led a large field campaign since dawn today, Tuesday, to open roads and pump rainwater left by the depression that struck the capital, Aden, and a number of southern governorates. According to the district leadership, all main roads in Al-Tawahi have been opened by this afternoon, including the Al-Qalua tunnel, Hujeif, and the streets leading to the National Bank and the Southern Journalists Syndicate, in addition to other affected locations. Public works, water, and sanitation teams contributed to removing flood debris such as stones and dirt, opening public streets, and pumping stagnant water in the areas of Al-Hadiqa, Rasali, Al-Fath, Benjassar, and others. Judge Al-Shaabi affirmed that what Al-Tawahi witnessed was "God's will," stressing that the local authority bears its full responsibilities towards citizens, pointing out that work is being done in coordination with the competent authorities in the governorate and under the directives of the Minister of State, Governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas. He also explained that the operations room in the directorate continues its work around the clock to receive reports and ensure rapid intervention. For his part, Engineer Sami Al-Sayyadi, Director of Sanitation in Al-Tawahi, explained that the field teams completed opening the damaged roads and pumping water from vital sites, confirming the continuation of efforts until the completion of removing all waste and normalizing the situation. Al-Shaabi called on citizens to cooperate with the field teams to facilitate their tasks in confronting the effects of the depression and reducing the resulting damage.
