68 Humanitarian Organizations: The World is Abandoning Yemen Aden - Arabian Sea On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, 68 relief organizations launched an urgent appeal to save millions of Yemenis, stressing that the continuation of the war and the decline in international funding are placing the country in the face of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. The organizations stressed that nearly half of Yemen's population needs urgent food and health assistance, in light of the scarcity of resources and the deterioration of the economy. They pointed out that the decline in international support was not a mere coincidence, but is linked to political conditions and economic requirements imposed by some donors, most notably those related to reforms, combating corruption, and controlling ports. Analysts believe that hunger in Yemen is no longer just a direct result of the conflict, but has turned into a political pressure card, used to subject the Yemeni parties to the decisions of international and regional powers.
