Arab Sea - Follow-ups: Amnesty International has warned of the danger of what it described as Israel's "deliberate starvation policy" against the residents of the Gaza Strip, stressing that more than half a million Palestinians are on the brink of famine as a result of the ongoing siege for months. The organization explained that preventing the entry of food, medicine, and fuel cannot be considered merely an accidental result of the war, but rather amounts to a systematic strategy of collective punishment, which constitutes a war crime under international humanitarian law. Field reports revealed that hospitals are suffering from a severe shortage of medical supplies, while residents are forced to rely on herbs and contaminated water to survive. Other international organizations have also warned that the continuation of the current situation will lead to a complete collapse of the health system and the spread of infectious diseases. Humanitarian sources confirm that what is happening is inseparable from Israel's attempt to use starvation as a political weapon to force the residents of the Strip into forced displacement and leave their lands, in a repetition of the "Nakba" scenario of 1948, but with more brutal tools. Remarkably - according to legal experts - the international silence and the collusion of some major powers gives Israel cover to continue this policy, even though the United Nations has repeatedly warned that "starvation is a crime that does not have a statute of limitations." Observers believe that this file may soon become a turning point in re-evaluating the legitimacy of the Western system, which raises the slogan of human rights while turning a blind eye to one of the most horrific humanitarian tragedies in modern times.
