Well-informed banking sources said that this support aims to enhance the stability of the local currency and improve the purchasing power of citizens, in light of the wave of high prices that has exhausted various sectors. They confirmed that the step will contribute to alleviating living burdens and reducing the costs of transportation and basic goods, while allowing the government a wider margin to control the markets. This development comes after a relative improvement in the exchange rate of the Yemeni riyal against the US dollar and the Saudi riyal, amid hopes that this decrease will mark the beginning of a more stable economic path, albeit gradually, in a country suffering from complex crises for years.
