Arab Sea_Reports: The United States announced on Saturday the suspension of all visitor visas granted to individuals coming from Gaza. The U.S. State Department said in a post on the "X" platform that "all visitor visas for individuals coming from Gaza have been suspended." It added that this decision came while a "full and comprehensive review of the process and procedures used to issue a limited number of visas for medical and humanitarian purposes in recent days" is underway. The United States issued more than 3,800 B1 and B2 visitor visas, which allow foreigners to receive medical treatment inside the United States, to holders of travel documents issued by the Palestinian Authority, according to an analysis of monthly figures published on the U.S. State Department website. This total includes 640 visas issued in May, according to Reuters. The same agency stated that the U.S. State Department's decision to suspend visitor visas for people coming from Gaza came after statements by Laura Loomer, a far-right activist and ally of President Donald Trump, on social media on Friday. This decision comes at a time when the Gaza Strip is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said on Friday that at least 1,760 Palestinians were killed while waiting for aid in Gaza in late May. Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, 2023, the sector has been experiencing one of the worst humanitarian disasters.
