Arab Sea - Follow-ups: The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement published on its official Facebook page that it congratulates the Yemeni National Resistance Forces, led by Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Saleh, on what it described as their outstanding performance and commitment to stopping the spread of illegal weapons and materials destined for the Iranian-backed Houthi group. The statement explained that the Yemeni security forces, in coordination with the Public Prosecution and the Aden port authorities, were able on August 6 to seize a shipment that included drones, jet propulsion systems, wireless devices, and advanced control components, which were on their way to the Houthis via the port of Hodeidah, but its route was diverted to Aden, where it was seized in a joint inspection operation carried out by counter-terrorism, customs, and police units. The statement indicated that this operation, which came under the supervision and coordination of the National Resistance Forces led by Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Saleh, confirms the pivotal role played by these forces in thwarting smuggling operations and ensuring that advanced military equipment does not reach the hands of the Houthis, which supports the resolutions of the UN Security Council and preserves the security of maritime navigation and regional stability. The statement quoted Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command, as saying: "For the second time in three weeks, we commend the forces of the legitimate government in Yemen, and in particular the National Resistance Forces led by Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Saleh, who continue to intercept the flow of Iranian ammunition and equipment to the Houthis. This seizure highlights Iran's continued malign role in the region, and curbing this support is critical to the region's security, stability, and freedom of navigation."
