International Organization for Migration monitors displacement of more than 10,000 people in Yemen since the beginning of the year.

Arab Sea - Reports: Data issued by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) showed that about 1,745 families, comprising 10,470 individuals, experienced internal displacement at least once in Yemen from January 1 to August 9, 2025. The organization indicated that during the period from August 3 to 9, the organization recorded the displacement of an additional 50 families comprising 300 individuals, most of whom moved to the governorates of Marib, Hodeidah, and Taiz. The organization reported that in Marib, the majority of movements were towards Marib city and the Marib and Harib districts, with the majority of the displaced coming from Hodeidah and Ibb. In Hodeidah, Hays and Al Khokha recorded the highest rates of reception, with most of the displaced coming from Taiz and Hodeidah. As for Taiz, the districts of Al Ma'afer, Ash Shamayatayn, and Salah received the displaced families, with the majority of the displaced starting from the districts of Taiz and Ibb, according to the organization. The International Organization for Migration said that internal displacement movements in Yemen are continuing at a modest but stable pace, with continued pressure on host communities and basic services, amid deteriorating security and humanitarian conditions in many governorates.
