Arab Gulf - Reports: Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani considered on Wednesday that the events in Suwayda were "a sectarian strife fabricated by Israel." During a press conference in Ankara with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Asaad Al-Shaibani stated that his country is "committed" to holding accountable any violations in Suwayda, "and this is the responsibility of the state." He added: "We do not accept the exploitation of the people of Suwayda by Israel and others... Protecting Suwayda and its residents is the responsibility of the state." He affirmed that "Syria is for all Syrians and we must give precedence to the language of reason," stressing that "the Druze are an essential part of the Syrian people." Al-Shaibani explained that "the stability of Syria is stability for the region," highlighting that his country faces "challenges no less dangerous than those we faced during the war." He continued: "We are facing external interference that is trying to push Syria towards strife," stressing, "We extend our hand to all countries without interfering in our affairs." For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that his country "supports Syria to stand on its own feet." He added: "The Syrian government has made progress in several files... but it faces difficulties due to a lack of capabilities." Regarding Israel, Fidan mentioned that Tel Aviv "is manipulating the situation in Syria," pointing out that "Israel's priority is to create chaos in Syria." He added, saying: "Some are disturbed and want a negative reality for Syria... and the Syrian government wants a country where everyone feels safe." He stressed that Ankara "wants all ethnic and religious components in Syria to be united in one state."
