Yemen: Primary Court Issues Verdict in the Case of the Fake Doctor in Aden

Arab Sea_Reports: The Sira Primary Court held its public session today, presided over by Judge Nizar Al-Samman, in the presence of Prosecutor Judge Nasser Ali, and session secretary Ahmed Muhammad, to consider case No. (15) of 2023, Khor Maksar Primary Prosecution, which relates to one of the most prominent cases of fraud and impersonation. The details of the case go back to the security services at Aden International Airport arresting the accused (A.F.A.Kh.A) after his involvement in impersonating a dermatologist and a British diplomat with a forged name, practicing medicine in Malaysia using forged documents, in addition to extorting Yemeni women and students, and forging official documents for a number of officials in different countries, before he was arrested after a careful security follow-up that lasted several months. During the session, the court issued its ruling, which stipulated the following: Rejecting all defenses presented by the accused. Convicting him of committing the crime of using forged documents and fraud. Sentencing him to imprisonment for a period of three and a half years, starting from the date of his arrest, taking into account one and a half years he spent imprisoned in Malaysia. Obligating him to pay the amount of 20,000 US dollars to the victim, Aref Abdul Razzaq Ahmed Dahwan, in addition to three million Yemeni riyals as compensation for material and moral damages, including litigation expenses. Not releasing him until he signs a written pledge not to return to committing any other crime, and to abide by the provisions of Islamic law and public order. The court also acquitted the accused Ahmed Ali Jumaan Al-Shukail of the charge of fraud directed against him in the same case.
