Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The internationally unrecognized Houthi government expressed regret for what was stated in the briefing of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Hans Grundberg, before the Security Council session held today. The Houthi-controlled Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported a statement issued by the unrecognized Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, in which it indicated that it had followed, as usual, the briefing of the UN envoy to Yemen before the Security Council on August 12, 2025, and unfortunately, his briefing is still going around in circles and moving away from the root causes of the crisis in Yemen, according to the statement. It pointed out that talking about peace and stability remains incomplete without clearly referring to what it called the "Saudi-Emirati military aggression" and the "American, British, and Israeli aggression" that continues, in addition to the comprehensive and unjust siege imposed on the Yemeni people for years. The statement pointed out that the briefing did not provide an accurate and neutral description of the reality on the ground, which weakens its credibility and makes it appear as if it is equating the victim and the perpetrator. The statement expressed surprise at holding Sana'a responsible for the fragmentation of the Yemeni economy, while the real reason lies in the unilateral decisions taken by the "Central Bank in Aden" affiliated with what it called the "coalition mercenary government," stressing that those decisions, which led to the collapse of the currency, came with direct guidance and support from the "countries of aggression." The statement explained that the measures taken by what it called the "government of change and construction," including the issuance of currencies, are necessary measures aimed at protecting the national economy and maintaining the stability of the currency in the areas controlled by the Supreme Political Council, to ensure the continued provision of services to citizens. The Houthi statement also indicated that the support operations for the Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab are solidarity operations with the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza, and are not part of the internal conflict as promoted by the UN envoy, according to the statement, noting that these operations will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted.
