Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: A number of residents in the capital Sana'a and several governorates under the control of the Houthi group reported a sudden interruption in the landline internet service (ADSL) on Monday evening, coinciding with the disruption of some social media application services, most notably "WhatsApp," which only worked through the use of VPNs. This interruption comes after a hacking group called "S4uD1Pwnz" announced the implementation of a cyberattack targeting the "Yemen Net" network, the main provider of internet services in the group's controlled areas, with warnings that the attack would extend to additional governorates. Local residents reported that the outage began around 5:00 PM, and also included a noticeable decline in internet services via mobile networks (3G and 4G) and VoLTE technology, in addition to a decline in "Yemen 4G" services. Technology experts described this cyberattack as one of the largest attacks targeting the country's digital infrastructure, confirming that it reflects a sharp escalation in the electronic conflict between the Houthi group and its opponents, as communication networks have become a new and open arena of conflict.
