Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The head of the government delegation in prisoner negotiations, Brigadier General Yahya Kazman, and the director of the Political Security Agency in Al-Jawf Governorate, Brigadier General Ahmed Hamid Dares, survived an assassination attempt on Sunday evening that targeted their convoy on the international road linking Marib and Al-Wadia crossing in Hadramout Governorate. Local sources reported that five explosive devices exploded in succession as the convoy passed through the Ghuwayrban area on the Al-Ruwaik - Al-Abr road, resulting in material damage to a number of vehicles without any casualties. The sources added that the explosions occurred in short succession in an attempt to target the armored vehicles, but the strict security measures taken by the accompanying guards prevented any casualties. The roads linking Marib and Al-Wadia crossing witness attacks and acts of banditry from time to time carried out by armed groups, the latest of which were similar incidents during the past months that targeted military and security leaders. Government forces continue to carry out security campaigns along the Al-Ruwaik - Al-Abr road to track down wanted individuals and arrest those involved in these attacks, as part of their efforts to secure the strategic road that represents a vital artery for the transportation of people and goods between the eastern governorates and the Saudi border.
