Ras al-Ara - Arabian Sea - Special: Units from the joint security campaign in Al-Subaiha succeeded, the evening before last, in thwarting the smuggling of a military shipment on board a boat off the coast of Ras al-Ara, as part of their ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and secure the coasts. According to the campaign's media office, the operation began after the operations room received an accurate security report stating that suspicious movements of a boat had been detected in territorial waters. Immediately, a field naval force moved under the direct supervision of the campaign leadership, to pursue and monitor the boat until it was brought under control without any significant resistance. After a thorough inspection, various military equipment and supplies were found, including: Complete military uniforms, field undershirts, military caps, military boots, combat pouches, straps, and other field supplies. Three people who were on board the boat were also arrested, and they and the seized items were taken to the competent authorities to complete the investigations and take legal measures. The media office pointed out that this operation is not the first of its kind, as the security campaign last month managed to seize more than half a ton of hashish and large quantities of smuggled medicines, in a series of successful preemptive operations targeting smuggling networks, and thwarted huge plans that aimed to flood the markets with prohibited materials. The campaign leadership confirmed that these successive successes are due to the high field vigilance and constant readiness of its personnel, stressing that security efforts will continue around the clock to protect the coasts and sea ports, and prevent any attempts to violate the law or threaten the security and stability of the region.
