Prime Minister directs radical reforms in the Hajj and Umrah file and reduction of its cost.

Arab Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Prime Minister, Dr. Salem Saleh bin Breik, directed the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance to conduct radical reforms in the Hajj and Umrah file, address all shortcomings and imbalances, with a focus on improving the level of services and reducing their cost, in order to achieve the interests of the pilgrims and alleviate their burdens in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through. During his chairmanship today of a meeting in the temporary capital, Aden, with the leadership of the Ministry of Endowments, the Prime Minister stressed that the government views serving Yemeni pilgrims as a "sacred responsibility" that requires the highest degrees of integrity and transparency, and institutional performance free of improvisation or favoritism. He stressed the importance of implementing the matrix agreed upon between the Ministries of Endowments and Finance, which includes a comprehensive review of the organizational, financial and administrative procedures for Hajj and Umrah, activating control tools over approved companies and agencies, ensuring fair distribution of opportunities, simplifying registration procedures and selecting supervisors, and activating complaint, evaluation and accountability mechanisms. He also called for making decisions in partnership with Hajj and Umrah agencies and not marginalizing their role, stressing the need to involve them in providing solutions and benefiting from successful experiences in other countries. The meeting discussed the evaluation of the performance of the past Hajj season 1446 AH, the most prominent imbalances that marred it, and the measures to overcome them in the coming seasons, with emphasis on reducing the cost without affecting the quality of services provided. The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the distinguished services they provide to the pilgrims, praising their pioneering role in the Islamic world. For his part, the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Muhammad Shabiba, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Hajj and Umrah Sector, Mukhtar Al-Rabbash, presented a presentation on the most prominent challenges facing the past Hajj season, and the proposals put forward to develop the Ministry's performance in the next stage, stressing their full commitment to implementing the Prime Minister's directives and working in an institutional spirit that keeps pace with the government's priorities.
