Arabian Sea Newspaper - Special
Aden ((Arabian Sea)) Special: His Excellency Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Lasour, President of Aden University, visited the Literacy and Adult Education Office in Al-Mansoura City, Aden Governorate, yesterday morning, Tuesday, 5/8/2025. He was received by Dr. Essam Al-Muqbali, Director General of the Literacy Office, and a number of the office's leaders and staff. Upon his arrival, Dr. Al-Muqbali welcomed the President of Aden University, saying: "Today, we welcome in our office the head of the largest scientific institution in Aden, His Excellency Dr. Al-Khader Lasour." He added, "Today, we are very happy with this loving and kind visit." Dr. Al-Muqbali then briefly reviewed a number of good examples of the outstanding fruits of literacy and those enrolled in the seats of Aden University who obtained the top ranks in high school, as well as those who aspire to join Aden University in postgraduate courses. Then, Dr. Lasour delivered a speech in which he said, "Praise be to God," we are here on a loving visit, but it is an opportunity to be official. Speaking about Dr. Essam Al-Muqbali and the achievements made by the literacy agency in this blessed governorate, the achievements here are a jihad to fight illiteracy, a jihad to fight poverty, a jihad to fight terrorism and foreign interference or others, and we are still in continuous movement to this day on the borders and in more than one location and in more than one governorate, but our jihad (the jihad of knowledge) is the greatest jihad and will continue until the Day of Judgment. Our jihad and your jihad, may God reward you with good. He added, saying, "I am not surprised that the outstanding students in Aden reach the university stage and are distinguished examples, as Aden is a beacon of science, but the surprise comes in the high rate of illiteracy in this governorate...which was a beacon and radiation for the Yemeni homeland in general, the island, and the Arab world, as Aden was a destination for patriots, free people, revolutionaries, and a destination for science. All the schools in which most of the state's leaders studied, as well as leaders of neighboring countries, studied in Aden." He continued, saying: "The time has come to revive efforts, and in fact, we are with all teachers in primary and university schools, and indeed their economic conditions are difficult...the conditions of everyone, but we must not kill each other with illiteracy and ignorance. Of course, we had a strike at the university that harmed many, but the national and academic sense overcame that and they returned to their studies." He concluded his speech by saying: "After this visit, there may be a memorandum of understanding regarding the allocation of seats in a number of colleges in Aden and all liberated governorates." He also praised the administrative staff and the staff of the Literacy Office, thanking them for their excellent efforts and asking God to reward them for what they provide. He said that his office is open and that Dr. Essam Al-Muqbali is one of the sons of Aden University who is making a great and extraordinary effort here, and it is possible to make mutual visits later, and indeed, honestly, we felt something beautiful today and that there is work and hope in more than one place, and greetings from me for your great effort." At the conclusion of the loving visit, which was dominated by a commendable official character, the President of Aden University and Al-Muqbali agreed to prepare a memorandum of understanding that serves the people of excellence and science in the city of light and peace.
