**((Bahralarab)) Follow-ups:** Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed, on the fifth anniversary of the Beirut port explosion, which coincides today, "that the Lebanese state, with all its institutions, is committed to revealing the whole truth, no matter the obstacles and no matter how high the positions," noting that "justice knows no exceptions, and the law applies to everyone without discrimination." The Lebanese President stressed that "justice will not die, and accountability is inevitable." Aoun said, "On this painful day, August 4th, we remember together the fifth anniversary of the Beirut port explosion, that major crime that shook the conscience of the nation and the world, claimed the lives of more than two hundred martyrs, wounded thousands of innocent people, and destroyed entire neighborhoods of our beloved capital." He added, "Today, after 5 years since this tragedy, we stand before the souls of the martyrs, before the wounded and their families, and before all the Lebanese, to affirm that justice will not die, and that accountability is inevitable." Aoun pointed out that he had pledged to the Lebanese people since assuming his constitutional responsibilities that holding those responsible for the "Beirut port crime" accountable would be a top priority, and that no one who caused this humanitarian disaster through negligence, dereliction, or corruption would escape punishment. He stressed that the Lebanese state, with all its institutions, is committed to revealing the whole truth, no matter the obstacles and no matter how high the positions. The Lebanese President reiterated to the families of the dead and wounded in the Beirut port explosion that the blood of their loved ones will not be shed in vain, and that their pain will not go unanswered. He said, "Justice is coming, and accountability is coming, and this is a promise I made to myself before God and the nation."
