Lajj (Arabian Sea) Special: The fuel follow-up official in Lahj Electricity, Mustafa al-Jabali, launched a scathing attack yesterday on the Presidential Council and the government due to the continued power outage in Lahj Governorate for a week and the lack of any signs or breakthrough to solve the problem of the lack of fuel for power generation plants. In a post on Facebook yesterday, he said: "Seven full days and Lahj Governorate is plunged into complete darkness after the power plants stopped completely due to fuel depletion, while the government and the concerned authorities are not moving a finger in a new scandal added to the record of neglect and chronic corruption." He pointed out that the people in Al-Houta and Tuban districts, especially the elderly, children, and patients, are facing difficult conditions in light of the rising temperatures without mercy or compassion from government authorities that are accustomed to lying and empty promises. Al-Jabali pointed out that "the citizens of Lahj hold the Presidential Council, the government, and the Ministry of Electricity fully responsible for this deliberate humanitarian disaster, which reveals the lack of any sense of responsibility or the minimum of humanity towards hundreds of thousands of innocent people who are paying the price for failure and recklessness," pointing out on behalf of the people of Lahj Governorate that "the patience of the people of Lahj has run out, and that the continuation of this situation will lead to widespread popular anger, the consequences of which cannot be predicted if the responsible authorities do not move immediately to provide fuel, operate power plants, and end this collective crime against a defenseless people who have nothing but their voice and patience." He concluded by saying: "For years, Lahj has been in the basket of neglect and deprivation of electricity, service projects, and government support, and neglect is repeated without deterrence... How long will this governorate remain hostage to the chronic inability of successive governments?!"
