Local sources reported organized smuggling operations taking place for weeks, involving large quantities of domestic gas allocated for the governorates of Aden and Lahj, being smuggled to areas under the control of the Houthi group. The sources revealed that these operations are carried out with official permits, raising broad questions about the parties involved in facilitating the passage of shipments, and the purpose of diverting the liberated governorates' share to enemy areas that are imposing an economic and security war on the country. The sources indicated that the shipments are passed through intermediaries and brokers who obtain huge financial percentages for each trailer, at a time when citizens in Aden and Lahj are suffering from a recurring crisis in the availability of gas, and its high prices on the black market. Citizens called on the concerned authorities in the government and local authorities to open a transparent and urgent investigation into these operations, and hold those involved accountable, considering what is happening a betrayal of the people's sacrifices, and manipulation of one of their most basic needs.
