The Yemeni diplomat and political activist Yahya Hussein Al-Arashi called on the Yemeni people to "national awakening and to take responsibility in facing the ongoing crisis for fifteen years," pointing out that the current situation reflects the loss of the state and the continued foreign influence in various regions of Yemen, from Hadramout and Socotra to Aden, Sana'a, and strategic ports. Al-Arashi said in a statement published today, Friday, that Hadramout, which was a model of peace and stability for seven decades, is today facing "a dangerous development that threatens the stability of Yemen after other governorates have experienced similar crises," warning of the continued foreign, Arab, and even Israeli influence in ports and vital areas. He pointed out that calls for peace and national reconciliation have often become considered an accusation, and that preserving national unity is considered "wrong" in the current political reality, warning that "generations of Yemen are being planted in their hearts and minds with continuous confrontations in the name of religion, creed, and science," in reference to the divisions and conflicts that affect children and schools. Al-Arashi stressed the need to "return to reason and wisdom," and to bear individual and collective responsibility, instead of relying on external parties, stressing that the continuation of selfishness and dependence on others will lead to further collapse and destruction. The diplomat concluded his statement with a prayer, emphasizing that he had "delivered his message," and urging Yemenis to move to rebuild their homeland and protect their national gains.
