Yemen: Al-Mahra authorities confirm the stability of the situation after the STC's control of government and military sites.

The local authority in Al Mahrah Governorate denied today, Thursday, the existence of any security tension in the governorate, confirming that the situation is normal and proceeding naturally, following reports of the Southern Transitional Council forces taking over a number of civilian and military sites in the governorate bordering the Sultanate of Oman. A statement from the local authority explained that public services are continuing without any interruption, noting that the coordination between the political leadership and the local authority, headed by Governor Muhammad Ali Yasser, contributed to the stability of institutional work and the enhancement of performance efficiency in various sectors. The statement indicated that the sites taken over by the Transitional Council included Nishtun Port, the Republican Palace in Al-Ghaydah, the Al-Ghaydah Axis Command, and the 137th Infantry Brigade, in addition to a number of security checkpoints and military sites, while emphasizing that the process took place calmly and without any clashes. The local authority called on citizens not to be drawn into interpretations or media rumors, and to rely on official sources to obtain accurate information, stressing that the governorate is witnessing a state of stability and security. The Transitional Council forces had seized Nishtun Port, the Republican Palace in Al-Ghaydah city, the Al-Ghaydah Axis Command, and the 137th Infantry Brigade, in addition to security checkpoints and military sites in the governorate, in an operation carried out without confrontations.
