The local authority in Hadramout Governorate and the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, under the auspices of a high-level Saudi delegation, reached a comprehensive agreement ending the tension that the governorate has witnessed in recent days, amid local praise for the Saudi role in the success of the mediation. Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani affirmed that the agreement represents "a victory for reason and wisdom" and restores the security and stability in one of the most important Yemeni governorates, stressing that Saudi Arabia has once again proven its role as a major guarantor of security in Yemen. Al-Eryani added that the presence of a Saudi security team to follow up on the implementation of the agreement reflects an awareness of the seriousness of the situation and a desire to restore confidence between the various local parties. Agreement clauses: - Immediate cessation of military, security, and media escalation. - Continuation of the truce until the mediation committee completes its work. - Withdrawal of the Hadramout Protection Forces to the vicinity of the "Petro Masila" company. - Return of the forces protecting companies and employees to their previous locations to resume production. - Commencement of the implementation of the withdrawal clauses on Thursday morning. For his part, the Governor of Hadramout, Salem Al-Khanbashi, described the agreement as an opportunity to consolidate security and protect vital interests, while the head of the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, Sheikh Amr bin Habrish, stressed the Alliance's commitment to what was agreed upon, in support of civil peace. These understandings come at a sensitive moment, following tensions that almost spiraled out of control, making the agreement a national gain that enhances the state's presence in its broader battle against the Houthi militia.
