The forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council announced today, Wednesday, their complete control over the 37th Armored Brigade camp, one of the largest military camps in Wadi Hadramout, as part of what it described as a "broad liberation operation" aimed at evacuating the governorate from the forces of the First Military Region. In a statement published by media outlets following the movement, the southern forces stated that the control of the camp comes after a series of field operations that included control of Seiyun International Airport, a number of security points, and securing the government departments complex in the city. The forces also called on local residents in Seiyun city and neighboring districts to stay away from the clash sites to ensure their safety. This development comes in the context of accelerating movements in the governorate, which activists describe as a "redrawing of influence," at a time when fears are escalating of an explosion of conflict over resources and power in Hadramout.
