Arab Sea Newspaper - Follow-ups:

The Houthi group continued, on Tuesday, to impose a comprehensive ban on the main road leading to the central Al-Khazjeh market in Al-Athawer isolation, south of Haifan District in Taiz Governorate, which caused paralysis of commercial traffic and increased the suffering of the people. The Director-General of the Directorate, Ali Raweh, confirmed that the Houthis had set up earthen barriers in the Najd Al-Adheer area and prevented the passage of citizens and vehicles coming from the governorates of Lahj and Aden, even for those trying to reach the market on foot. Raweh said that the Houthis are using the pretext of carrying out "maintenance work" on the Ras Naqil Haifan road - funded by the Hail Saeed Anam Group - to justify the closure of the road, while the real goal is to "tighten the siege and strangle the population." He added that the Houthi group refused to open safe alternative routes and forced residents to use rugged and dangerous paths, in a move he described as "collective punishment that exacerbates the humanitarian crisis and hinders access to food, medicine and basic services." Raweh called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to stop Houthi violations against civilians, ensure freedom of movement, and secure the needs of the besieged population.
