Badr Basalmah, advisor to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council for Local Administration Affairs, warned of the danger of introducing military forces from outside Hadramout Governorate into the internal affairs of the governorate, considering it a "direct threat" to its security and political stability. In a press statement yesterday, Basalmah pointed out that there are internal differences with Sheikh Omar bin Habrish, but they are currently being managed with "a spirit of wisdom and responsibility" between the civil, military, and tribal elites, without the need for external interventions. The presidential advisor stressed that strengthening the role of the local authority led by the governor is the best way to ensure security and stability, stressing that this will contribute to unifying the internal ranks and sparing Hadramout further unrest and divisions. Basalmah added that the introduction of military forces from outside the governorate will not be a solution to the problems, but will rather complicate the scene and open the door to wider social tensions, calling for addressing the problems from within, and with a purely Hadrami dialogue that preserves the unity of the social fabric. These statements come amid escalating tensions between the components of Hadramout, and the ongoing controversy over the recent military movements associated with the Southern Transitional Council.
