Yemen: Hadramout parties and components warn against escalation and call for urgent steps to protect stability.

The Coordination of Components and Political Parties in Hadramout warned on Monday against the continuation of escalation in the governorate, stressing that the escalating tensions threaten civil peace and the stability that Hadramout has enjoyed in recent years. The Coordination expressed its support for the initiative of the Governor of Hadramout to de-escalate and open the door for dialogue and take the necessary measures to preserve security and protect the rights of citizens, stressing its support for any official steps to promote good governance and consolidate stability in this sensitive stage. It stressed its rejection of bringing in any forces from outside Hadramout, calling for their immediate withdrawal, and affirming the efficiency and discipline of the Hadrami Elite Forces, which have contributed to making the governorate one of the most stable regions in Yemen. The Coordination called on the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council to assume their responsibilities and prevent Hadramout from being dragged into any political or military conflict, and to take urgent measures to preserve the social fabric and implement the Council's decisions regarding meeting the demands of Hadramout issued on January 7, 2025. The Coordination also called on the Quartet to intervene urgently to ensure the protection of security and stability and support the unity of the Hadrami ranks and the legitimate rights of its people, stressing that the governorate will remain a symbol of peace and stability, and that its political and social components will continue to work together without any external interference. The Coordination affirms its welcome of the initiative of the brother Governor to de-escalate and engage in dialogue, and to take the necessary measures to preserve the security of the governorate and protect the rights of its people, announcing its support for any steps he takes within the framework of consolidating stability and promoting good governance at this critical stage. At the same time, it affirms its support for every official effort that preserves the security of the governorate and enhances the path of good governance, in a way that meets the aspirations of the people of Hadramout and protects their interests. The Coordination also categorically rejects the introduction of any forces from outside Hadramout, and calls for their immediate return to their areas and military barracks, considering this a national entitlement and a legal responsibility, and affirms that the Hadrami Elite Forces have proven their high efficiency, discipline and professionalism, and have been and still are a model in security performance, which has made Hadramout one of the safest and most stable governorates. The Coordination calls on the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council to assume their historical responsibilities in preventing Hadramout from being dragged into any political or military conflict, and to take urgent measures to stop the escalation, preserve the social fabric, ensure respect for the requirements of national partnership, and work quickly to develop the executive mechanism for the decisions of the Leadership Council regarding meeting the demands of Hadramout issued on January 7, 2025.
