Cairo to host the fourth edition of the International Defence Industries Exhibition "EDEX 2025"

The fourth International Defence Industries Exhibition "EDEX 2025" kicked off today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The exhibition will continue for four days at the Al Manara International Conference Center and the Egypt International Exhibition Center. The exhibition was inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the presence of senior military and government officials, along with representatives of international companies specializing in the field of armament, defense, and security industries at the regional and international levels. The opening ceremony witnessed the presentation of the joint manufacturing project for the K9A1 EGY howitzer, followed by the screening of two documentary films about the project and the Egypt International Defence Industries Exhibition. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Egyptian Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Abdel Meguid Saqr, affirmed that this year's edition of the exhibition comes in light of rapid transformations and complex conflicts witnessed by the region and the world, stressing that constant readiness to face dangers has become a necessity that cannot tolerate complacency. He added that "EDEX 2025" has become a major international platform for countries and companies producing armament systems and defense systems, to showcase the latest innovations and defense technologies, in addition to exchanging experiences and knowledge between specialized bodies and entities from around the world. Saqr pointed out that the exhibition reflects Egypt's keenness to follow global developments in the armament sector and enhance its military capabilities in a way that contributes to supporting national security, and confirms its commitment to strengthening cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries to ensure regional and international security and stability through joint exercises and the exchange of experiences.
