Taiz was subjected to heavy shelling by the Houthi group this evening and early this morning, in a new escalation described by residents as "the most violent in weeks," amid a state of panic and anxiety among civilians. Eyewitnesses and local residents said they heard five successive explosions that shook residential neighborhoods in the city center, without any clarity yet on the extent of the damage or casualties. These attacks come at a time when the city is witnessing escalating tension, with increasing fears of the expansion of the shelling, especially in densely populated areas, which threatens to repeat the scenario of massacres that the city witnessed in past years.
