Yemen: The Supreme Security Committee reviews efforts to enhance stability and combat smuggling.

President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, along with Council member Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, held a meeting today in Aden with the Supreme Security Committee to discuss local developments, the latest security and military situations, and efforts to enhance security, stability, and public tranquility in the country. The meeting discussed the latest efforts of the armed forces and security agencies in enhancing security and stability in various governorates under the control of the internationally recognized government, in addition to combating terrorism, organized crime, controlling weapons and drugs. The meeting included briefings presented by the Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, members of the committee, and heads of the concerned agencies, on the level of readiness of the armed and security forces in confronting the Houthi group and organizations associated with it, in addition to plans to thwart sabotage plots. The efforts to combat smuggling and implement the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council to close violating ports were also discussed, with a focus on the governorates of Al-Jawf, Marib, Lahj, and Hadramout, in addition to strengthening security gains, doubling precautions, monitoring the movements of sleeper cells, and protecting national and international organizations. The meeting pointed to the role of regional partners and international supporters in enhancing the capabilities of the Yemeni Coast Guard forces to ensure the security of international navigation, stressing the importance of coordination between military and intelligence agencies to confront terrorist activities and enhance the state's presence in the capital and governorates. The committee renewed its commitment to close partnership in counter-terrorism efforts, protecting civil space, ensuring the continuity of the work of official institutions, and respecting the rights of citizens guaranteed by law and the constitution.
