A large tribal meeting was held this Saturday morning in the Ras Huwaira area of Hadramout Governorate, with the participation of hundreds of social figures, sheikhs, dignitaries, in addition to military leaders and prominent local figures. This meeting came in light of escalating tensions within the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, where the attendees announced the dismissal of Sheikh Omar bin Habrish Al-Alayi from the presidency of the alliance, and the selection of a new figure to assume leadership during the next stage, in a step described by the attendees as necessary to restore the alliance to its original path and basic goals. The participants indicated that the dismissal decision came as a result of what they described as bin Habrish's departure from the "true goal of the alliance," stressing that the current stage requires a leadership that is closer to the demands of the tribes and more committed to the approach on which the alliance was founded from the beginning. The speeches delivered at the meeting stressed the importance of Hadrami unity and the rejection of any attempts to drag the tribes into conflicts or positions that do not express the will of the people of the region. In an official reaction, Sheikh Omar bin Habrish issued a statement denying the legitimacy of these moves, describing the opposing meetings as "funded and illegitimate" and not representing the Hadramout Tribal Alliance. These developments come in light of complex political and security conditions within Hadramout, which highlights the challenges facing the alliance in maintaining its cohesion and the unity of the tribes in the vital governorate.
