Yemen: Security official assassinated in Aden

This morning, Thursday, Jamal Yahya bin Saleh, the armaments director in the Security Belt Forces in Abyan Governorate, was killed inside his car in the Khor Maksar district of Aden, in an incident that has renewed fears about the targeting of security officials. Security sources reported that the victim (33 years old) was subjected to direct gunfire that led to his immediate death, and that initial investigations indicate a deliberate assassination operation without any resistance. Bin Saleh's body was transferred to Al-Jumhouria Hospital, while security services began collecting evidence, examining surveillance cameras, and strengthening security deployment in the area, amid growing concern about the authorities' ability to protect security leaders in light of the continued tension in the city.
