The leadership of Taiz Governorate and the security services condemned, on Monday, the criminal attempt that targeted the convoy of the governor of the governorate and the leadership of the Tur Al-Bahah axis in the Najd Al-Bard area below Hejat Al-Abd, describing it as a "treacherous and cowardly attack" aimed at undermining security and stability in the governorate. The leadership confirmed that the attack resulted in the martyrdom of five escorts, while two of the attackers were killed and two others were injured to varying degrees. It explained that the attack comes in the context of the activities of armed groups outside the law that operate - according to the statement - in a way that serves the interests of the Houthi terrorist militias, and aims to harm the prestige of the state, spread chaos, and threaten the security of citizens. The statement indicated that this terrorist attempt reflects the state of despair in which those elements live, and reveals the extent of the security challenges facing the governorate, stressing that the Taiz leadership is continuing to confront these criminal acts with all force and firmness. The leadership stressed that the security services and military forces, in coordination with the Tur Al-Bahah axis, are continuing pursuit operations to track down the perpetrators and those involved, in preparation for referring them to the judiciary to receive deterrent punishment. The governorate leadership called on the people of Taiz to join forces, strengthen social cohesion, and support efforts aimed at maintaining security and stability and advancing the development process.
