The Yemeni politician Dr. Mustafa Khaled addressed a message to the British Ambassador, Abdo Sharif, and Minister Hamish Faulkner, welcoming them to Aden, stressing that the British delegation's presence always carries "a message of sincere interest in Yemeni affairs and constant support for stability and development." Khaled pointed out that Yemen, despite its wounds, remains an inspiring country with its culture, history, and people, but today it is "more than ever in need of effective political and diplomatic support that paves the way for a just and sustainable peace that addresses the roots of the crisis." He explained that Britain and the international community possess "important keys that can contribute to ending more than ten years of war, destruction, and economic collapse," stressing that the intertwined regional interventions have contributed to prolonging the conflict and hindering solutions. Dr. Mustafa Khaled called on London to adopt a purely Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue table that does not exclude anyone, as the most appropriate way to reach a comprehensive national agreement that expresses the interests of Yemenis. Khaled presented a comprehensive vision for a viable peace, based on: A federal, democratic, civil state that grants the regions full management of their affairs. One president for the federal state. A unified national army, far from allegiances outside the state. Unified security and foreign affairs that protect sovereignty. Transparent management of wealth that ensures a fair distribution of development. He stressed that the stability of Yemen is a strategic necessity for the international community, due to its broad benefits, including protecting sea lanes, securing global trade, reducing the risks of terrorism, and opening the door to a new economic phase that contributes to the recovery of the region. Dr. Khaled concluded his message by emphasizing that the British delegation's visit to Aden is "a positive initiative that can be built upon," expressing his aspiration for effective partnerships that restore Yemen's true face, "a country of history, values, humanity, and hope."
