Cairo launches the Arab Youth Friendship Championship… Grand opening and exciting matches

On Saturday evening, November 15, 2025, the Arab Youth Union for Creativity and Innovation, affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States, launched the Arab Youth Friendship Championship competitions in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, amidst a wide official and popular presence that reflects the extent of interest in the first Arab youth event of its kind. The championship is the first Arab youth sports event of this size under the umbrella of the Union, and its organization came with the aim of strengthening ties between Arab youth residing in Egypt, and consolidating the values of cooperation and integration through sports, as a common space that brings together members of the communities in a positive competitive atmosphere and a fraternal spirit. The event witnessed a qualitative presence of Arab sports and media figures, in addition to social leaders from the communities, under the supervision of an organizing committee headed by Mr. Issa Saiban Al-Mujfel and his deputy, Mr. Bardad Al-Bahr, and with the support of a technical and administrative team that includes a selection of sports competencies, including: Dr. Abdo Al-Nahari, Captain Mohamed Raweh, Captain Fahmy Salah, and Captain Wajdi Abu Al-Baraa, who are working to present the championship in a professional manner that reflects the Arab character of the event. The organizing body has allocated various prizes for the top finishers, in addition to individual prizes for the best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer of the tournament, in a step aimed at encouraging outstanding performance and expanding the circle of participation, in order to ensure raising the level of competition among the participating teams. The opening took place in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Arab Union, Dr. Majed Al-Assi, the Assistant Secretary-General, Dr. Muhammad Al-Himyari, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Jaadi Marketing and Real Estate Development Company, businessman Bilal Al-Jaadi, and businessman Abdulrahman Daghsan, in addition to sports and social figures and a crowd that filled the stands of Al-Nasr Schools stadium on Faisal Street. Following the opening ceremony, the first matches of the tournament kicked off in an enthusiastic atmosphere characterized by competitiveness and excitement: First match: Yemen (A) x Sudan - An exciting draw 4-4 The two teams presented one of the most enjoyable matches of the first day, during which they exchanged control and the result fluctuated until the last moments. The goals for Yemen were scored by: Al-Baraa Derham (min. 4) Abdulhamid Abu Bakr (min. 5) Majd Al-Din Suhail (two goals) While the goals for Sudan came through: Nasr Al-Hussam (min. 8) Abdulhamid Abu Bakr (two additional goals) Omar Hamad (min. 25) Businessman Abdulrahman Daghsan awarded the best player award to star Majd Al-Din Suhail from the Yemen (A) team, in recognition of his outstanding performance. Second match: Yemen (B) x Egypt - A well-deserved Yemeni victory 6-3 In the second match, the youth of Yemen (B) decided the match against the Egyptian team with a score of 3-6 after a balanced attacking performance, during which they scored: Ali Al-Nakhlani (hat-trick - min. 5, min. 34, min. 40) Ghali Muhammad (two goals - min. 18, min. 52) The goals for the Egyptian team were scored by: Taha Muhammad (min. 16) Hamdi Ibrahim (min. 29) Player Najm Al-Din Ahmed Al-Jaadi from the Yemen (B) team won the best player award in the match. Second Day Matches The excitement continues today, Sunday, with two matches in the group stage competitions: Yemen (A) x Mauritania Yemen (B) x Palestine Professional Organization and Specialized Supervision The event enjoys professional organizational management led by Mr. Issa Saiban Al-Mujfel, and his deputy, Mr. Bardad Al-Bahr, and with the support of a selection of technical and administrative competencies: Dr. Abdo Al-Nahari, Captain Mohamed Raweh, Captain Fahmy Salah, Dr. Majed Haddad, and Captain Wajdi Abu Al-Baraa, under the general supervision of Counselor Fouad Al-Barti. The tournament is held with the support and generous sponsorship of a number of companies and personalities, most notably: Al-Jaadi Marketing and Real Estate Development Company - Businessman Bilal Al-Jaadi Sheikh Murtada Al-Muntasir Mr. Ali Musleh Al-Tawalah Mr. Labib Nasher Mr. Ahmed Shajra This support comes in appreciation of the importance of youth initiatives that bring together members of the Arab communities under one umbrella, and enhance the values of cooperation and belonging. Cairo also hosted the first Holy Quran competition for members of the Yemeni community, organized by the administrative body of the community headed by Mr. Omar Babtain and the Secretary-General, Dr. Muhammad Al-Himyari. The competition lasts for three days and includes preliminary rounds and finals, with the honoring of winners, referees and sponsors within the tournament's activities.
