Arab Sea - Follow-ups: On Saturday, Israeli forces advanced into areas in the southern Quneitra countryside inside Syrian territory and raised the Israeli flag over the summit of Tel al-Ahmar al-Sharqi (Eastern Red Hill), in a move described as a direct escalation and a new violation of Syrian sovereignty. According to what was reported by the Syrian Al-Ikhbariya channel, the incursion included two military vehicles and two tanks, which set off from Tel al-Ahmar al-Gharbi (Western Red Hill) towards Tel al-Ahmar al-Sharqi. An Israeli patrol consisting of 6 vehicles also advanced into the towns of Bir Ajam, Bureiqa, and Zubaida al-Gharbiya and al-Sharqiya, in the absence of any barriers hindering its movements. In a parallel move, another Israeli patrol consisting of three vehicles entered the Ain Ziwan area and advanced towards Abu Qubais, according to the Syrian source. Israeli forces also set up a temporary military checkpoint between Saida and Mazraat al-Mughatra. This is the second incursion of its kind in the village of Saida al-Hanout during November, as an Israeli force consisting of 5 vehicles advanced on November 16, before withdrawing after a short period. These movements come amid continuous Israeli reinforcements along the Syrian border, and an expansion in deployment after the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime last December, as Tel Aviv took control of points east of the buffer zone separating the occupied Golan from Syria. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently made a public visit to Israeli forces stationed in southern Syria, which sparked official condemnation from the Syrian government, which described the visit as a "flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty."
