Today, Thursday, at Al-Maashiq Palace in the interim capital, Aden, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen, Yevgeny Kudrov. Following that, the Chairman of the Leadership Council met with the Russian Ambassador, who conveyed the greetings of President Vladimir Putin and his wishes for peace and stability for the Yemeni people. For his part, President Al-Alimi conveyed his greetings to President Putin, wishing Russia and its friendly people further progress and prosperity. The Chairman of the Leadership Council affirmed the provision of all facilities and support to the Russian Ambassador to carry out his diplomatic duties and strengthen the historical relations between the two countries, stressing the common desire to push them towards broader horizons of cooperation in various fields. President Al-Alimi praised Russia's firm position in supporting Yemen, its constitutional legitimacy, and its national institutions in all international forums. The meeting also discussed opportunities to expand areas of bilateral cooperation and enhance the results of President Al-Alimi's visit to Moscow last May. The Chairman of the Leadership Council explained to the Russian Ambassador the local developments and government reform efforts to alleviate the repercussions of the devastating war ignited by the Houthi group, supported by the Iranian regime, and the attacks on maritime navigation lines and cargo ships. President Al-Alimi reiterated the Council and the government's commitment to achieving a comprehensive and sustainable peace in accordance with national, regional and international references, in particular Resolution 2216.
