Urgent appeal to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Your Highness, Your recent visit and its unprecedented results have placed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a position to reshape the region's balances and formulate its strategic visions, befitting its role, history, and ambition to build a more stable and prosperous future. Your leadership approach has resulted in an influential Saudi presence, globally recognized as a new model in exercising the regional and international role alike. I, like the world, was struck by US President Trump's response to your explicit request to stop the war in Sudan after two years of bloodshed and conflict, a response that would not have happened without Your Highness's insightful political vision, strong factual argument, and diplomatic style that transcends the traditional initiatives adopted by the Quartet concerned with the Sudanese issue. Your success in this delicate endeavor is what encouraged me to address this urgent appeal to you, as Your Highness is a statesman of a unique caliber, capable of turning critical moments into historical transformations. The people of Yemen – the closest neighbor in terms of kinship and compassion, and the deepest in terms of connection to land, language, and destiny – have been exhausted by the war for more than a decade. By virtue of neighborhood and kinship, they were and will remain the primary support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the most loyal supporter of its development projects and future entitlements, whenever Yemen stabilizes and its people regain their security and peace. A stable Yemen is the secure rear fortress for its great neighbor, and it is the natural extension of the stability of the Kingdom itself. Your Highness, you were the Arab leader who carried the Sudan file to the White House and extracted the decision to stop the war there. Today, the Yemenis – with complete confidence unclouded by any apprehension – look forward to Yemen being in the focus of your attention, and to receiving what brotherly Sudan received from a generous initiative that ends the tragedy of a people who have long awaited peace. From Yemen, land and people, you have sincere prayers, great appreciation, and the truest hope.
