Launch of the 15th Meeting of the Technical Committee on Intellectual Property at the Arab League

The 15th meeting of the Technical Committee on Intellectual Property, organized by the Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Unit under the chairmanship of Algeria, kicked off today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, with the participation of government officials from intellectual property offices in Arab countries, including industrial property, copyright, and related rights offices. The Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and Supervisor of the Intellectual Property Unit at the Arab League, Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Maha Bakheit, explained that the meeting, which lasts for two days, will discuss the project to establish the Arab Electronic Intellectual Property Registry Platform with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the project to launch the regional network of technology and innovation support centers, in addition to the challenges related to copyright and related rights in light of the development of artificial intelligence and ways to confront them.
