Yemen: Inauguration of an integrated water project in Hays with European support

The Governor of Al Hudaydah, Al-Hasan Taher, inaugurated today, Sunday, a strategic water provision project in Hays District, which is expected to benefit more than 40,000 people, as part of efforts to improve access to safe water sources in government-controlled areas under the influence of the internationally recognized government. The project, which includes the construction of three artesian wells, a solar-powered pumping system, a 4,500-meter pumping line, a 200,000-liter collection tank, and another two towers with the same capacity, to enhance the stability of water supplies and improve the population's access to clean water in a sustainable manner, was implemented by the International Organization for Migration, with funding from the German government through the German Development Bank, and with a contribution from the European Union.
