Arab Sea - Follow-ups: The Syrian Ministry of Defense revealed today, Saturday, the initial results of its investigations into the explosion that occurred in the "Mezzeh" neighborhood in the capital, Damascus, on Friday evening. The ministry announced that it had found rudimentary military devices used during the launch of rockets that targeted a house in the "Mezzeh 86" neighborhood. The Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel quoted a source in the ministry's media and communication department as saying that the location from which the rockets were launched towards the Mezzeh neighborhood had been found, and the site is being secured to complete the investigations. The source explained that a specialized military team was able to discover the launch site by studying the angles of impact and the grouping of the rockets. A security source denied to the channel the validity of what some platforms are circulating about a malfunction in army training that led to the explosion. Syrian security forces had imposed a security cordon in the "Mezzeh 86" area of the capital, Damascus, after one of the houses was targeted by the launch of 3 rockets. The "SANA" agency quoted a military source as saying that Damascus was subjected to a treacherous attack represented by the fall of two "Katyusha" rockets launched from the outskirts of the city towards residential neighborhoods in the Mezzeh area and its surroundings. The incident resulted in the injury of a number of civilians and material damage to buildings and properties located at the scene.
