Security elements affiliated with the Houthi group stormed the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross located on Algeria Street in Sana'a. According to local sources, the Houthis stormed the office an hour before the usual morning meeting of foreign employees and a number of Yemeni employees, which is usually held to discuss developments related to the Yemeni issue. The sources indicated that the intruders cut off the internet, forcibly confiscated the phones of all employees, detained foreign employees, including the head of the ICRC delegation in Yemen, Christine Beerli (Swiss nationality), and a number of local employees for investigation, and tampered with the office headquarters and confiscated some equipment. This comes as a prosecution office affiliated with the Houthi group in Sana'a demanded the death penalty for 21 people within nine cells allegedly linked to a spy network. The group-controlled Saba news agency reported that the specialized criminal court in the capital secretariat held two sessions today to consider cases of "espionage with the countries of aggression," within a spy network allegedly linked to American, Israeli, and Saudi intelligence. The group is waging a continuous kidnapping campaign against workers in international organizations, accusing them of espionage.
