Several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Qatar, have announced the performance of prayers for rain this week, supplicating for rainfall amid concerns about worsening drought. King Salman bin Abdulaziz called on citizens in Saudi Arabia to perform the prayer on Thursday, emphasizing repentance, seeking forgiveness, giving charity, and helping others. Meanwhile, the Syrian Ministry of Endowments called for the prayer to be performed on Friday, with a commitment to repentance, fasting for three days, and restoring rights and grievances. In Qatar, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani called for the prayer to be performed on Thursday morning throughout the country, with him performing it himself at the Lusail prayer ground, according to the Qatar News Agency "QNA." Iran is experiencing a severe drought crisis, with the dam reserves in the city of Mashhad falling to less than 3%. President Masoud Pezeshkian warned of the possibility of evacuating Tehran if rain does not fall before the end of November, stressing strict measures to conserve water.
